POTO is a four letter word by Mr. F.S. Nariman nominated member of Parliament by President of India supported by BJP.
Mr. Nariman has supported NHRC (Justice J.S. Verma) and had seriously commented on the Law Commission of India (Justice B.P. Jeevan Reddy) and has high-lighted it as a collision between an expert statutory body and are expert non statutory body. Both Justice J.S. Verma and Mr. F.S. Nariman have basic connections with the Congress. Mr. F.S. Nariman was Additional Solicitor General of India 01.04.72 to 04.07.75 (Indira Gandhis regime).
Mr. F.S. Nariman has not made any difference, which he should have made, between the Congress Government and BJP Government. The under-current of the article is MISA and similar laws were used against RSS and POTO may be used against minority and Congressmen. This is totally erroneous. Mr. F.S. Nariman should have contra distinguished on the governance of India by the Congress and by the BJP and should have supported POTO, interalia as a weak tool being provided by BPJ to handle modern terrorism and that people must develop confidence in the Government including judiciary.
Mr. Nariman, since his resignation is and as ASG during emergency, has cultivated a neutral image, which will be used by the vested interests with the Congress leaning , to their advantage now, in opposing POTO. This however, is a clear reflection on the nominations of MPs made by President of India with the aid and advice of BJP Cabinet.
