Fear and Guilt
Fear is one of the feelings by reasons of which an individual expresses himself differently, then what is objective, rational and in consonance with his/her integrity. It is the first step which disintegrates an individuals personality. It is the first sign of a conflict between the intellect, mind and the body i.e. thoughts, feelings and actions.
Because we are ignorant of our true nature, because we are unaware of the independent blissful existence of our self, which is not effected by the activities of the nature or our expressions, we think and feel that if we act in a particular manner or if abstain from doing a certain action according to the dictates of our reasoning, the result of the said action or abstaining from that action will be an impediment in further activities and, therefore, we act or try to act differently, bringing about a split in our personality.
Fear exists on all the three plains of consciousness and must be understood with reference to each:
1. Physical a feeling that the body will be hurt, incapacitated or destroyed
2. Emotional a feeling that the emotions will be hurt e.g. loss of love and respect
3. Intellectual a feeling that the facts/ knowledge which were thought as they were will have to be remolded.
The physical fear constantly surfaces itself in a series of our daily
activities. Physical endurance is incomprehensible. One must not be
irrational or rash about his activities but must negate it after taking
such precautions as are reasonable, rational and possible. Once it is
understood and realized that the end of physical system is not the end
of life and the nature plans to evolve every individual to a higher and
better self, there is nothing to fear about.*
We are under a constant fear of loosing things (property etc.) and
individuals (friends) to which we have become attached (like a plant to
the ground) in the course of our daily social interactions. We also
fear the loss of our feelings towards things and individuals
